Shiyang He is a typeface designer at Foundertype, where he specializes in designing foreign and minority scripts. He holds a BA from Arts University Bournemouth and an MA in typeface design from the University of Reading, which he completed in 2021. He joined Foundertype in 2022. Shiyang's work focuses on multi-script typeface design, particularly on pairing Hanzi with non-CJK scripts. He has also conducted research on Arabic scripts used by Hui Muslims in China and has engaged in knowledge transmission related to typography. He has won and been nominated for several awards, including the Granshan, Tokyo TDC, GDC Award, and FounderAward.
